LOW-VOLTAGE CARRIER CENTRALIZED METER READING SUB-SYSTEM
The reading terminal is installed in the Low-Voltage Carrier Centralized Meter Reading System (CMRS) by zone area. CMRS communicates data with each terminal meter by power line carrier. After analyzing and processing the data, the concentrator sends all the readings to the power supply company’s data server by GPRS mobile communication network. This system uses the collected data to strengthen the management of power marketing and develop automated customer service and information.
The CMRS effectively solves many bottleneck problems in management, including meter reading, charging, and monitoring difficulties. This system offers efficient and accurate meter reading, fees, monitoring, and checking; the CMRS saves a lot of time, labor, and materials, and it facilitates the power consumption management, as well as makes the process convenient for the user.
There is no manual intervention in the CMRS reading and metering subsystem, ensuring the customer’s power consumption is timely and accurate. The automatic monitoring ensures the treatment of power consumption fair and just and is evidence-based. The CMRS function of voice alarming creates a closed loop, whole-system service. When customers pay their power fee, they start to enjoy service.
System Functions and Features
|Tree-Diagram Management and Omni Directional layout||The system uses various tree-form layouts from top to bottom, which includes the management unit arranges the layout according to the relationship between the power supply bureau and the power supply station, power network model arranges the layout from substation, bus, line to zone area. |Authority Grades and Crypto Security||The operator’s authority is divided in detail; the cipher encryption algorithmis extremely safe. There are 10 authority markers, which include the limitation of examination and approval in the turning on and off the relay, the setting the authority of the meters, and the limitations of operator’s management authority.
This multileveled authority effectively assures that the operators of different levels work only in their approved levels and jobs, avoiding unauthorized disturbance to the system’s normal operation and the operating system’s records. The cipher has multiple encryptions, which makes it safe and reliable.
|Automatic Operation||This system is capable of operating and implementing automatic tasks, including meter reading, but also automatic perception of modification of the parameters and the loading of parameters. It also does terminal proofreading, checks data, calculates power quantity and line loss, and automatically submits MIS data, and turns the relay on and off, and much more.|
|Line Loss Analysis||This system allows clients to define the formula of line loss and power quantity by themselves, and see the relationship between the power supply and electricity sales. This system automatically calculates the line loss per hour/day/month and generates the alarming information based on the corresponding value of the alarms.|
|Automatic Fault Alarm||The base station system can monitor whether the equipment communication and meters’ operation are normal, when abnormal conditions happen (power meter halts, theft of electricity). It prompts automatic alarms and then sends the alarm information to the customer’s mobile phone.|
|Reminding and informing Customer Arrearage (extensive platform required)||The CMRS data is uploaded to the base station, and the base station automatically analyzes it, and then queries the customers who are delinquent and powered off. It identifies customers whose residual electricity reaches alarm status and then reminds the customers via a short voice message voice so the customer will not experience power shut-down. This customer support and service decreases the time customers must spend to buy electricity and reduces the workload of business office. This promotes business office efficiency
Delinquent customers are recorded and printed in a report which allows predictions of low payment patterns.
When the customer’s residual electricity is less than or equal to a fixed value (which is a precaution value — the precaution value can be defined according to the actual power consumption of the customers when they ask for installing a meter), the CMRS can present customer statistics based on daily meter readings. These precautionary predictions are delivered to customers’ telephones or mobile phones by the short message voice service platform.
This short message and voice information service is based on customer agreement and is provided by the connection between the SP short message voice service provider’s Internet service platform and the carrier prepayment management system. It also informs the customer of warnings and outages by the interface program of the short message voice service platform.
|Routing Management||The base station can set the scheme of relay routing and can monitor the relay routing’s operation.|
|Clock Management||The system corrects the time based on the time of base station (whose time is based on GPS clock) and is transmitted from base station to the concentrator and then to customer’s energy meter. This function assures the accuracy of the system’s time.|
|Monitoring of Key Customers||The monitoring function can select key customers’ energy meters in a zone area and monitor them to read, record, and store their power quantity data. When the power quantity is abnormal, it can alarm and retain the initial data for investigation and analysis.|
|Real-Time Collection of Examination Data||The system can perform real-time collection of the voltage and current data from the GPRS meters to be examined in the zone area. The collection interval is at least 5 minutes.|
|Purchase and Consumption Comparisons||This function compares carrier IC meter customers’ purchasing power and consumption of power reasonably and automatically. When something abnormal happens, it immediately alarms, alleviating the possibility of human tampering or destruction, ensuring the system’s normal operation.|
|Power Abnormality Analysis||In a specified time period, the system collects users’ information of abnormal power consumption, and sends alarms of equipment malfunction and abnormalities. The management can assess situations to determine whether there are meter problems or power theft. This ensures timely discovery and solutions.|
|Data Searches and Reports||The meter-reading results can be efficiently searched with its comprehensive data search engine. All data in the database can be searched according to different conditions, and the search results can be sorted, displayed, reported and printed in different ways. The main station can generate and print reports of all kind of data in various forms as per user requests.|
|Different Databases and Multi-Language Compatibility||This system automatically supports ACCESS, SQL, Oracle, and other databases. It is multi-lingual. It can also upgrade early versions of the database.|
|Interfaces with Billing and Marketing||This system can be interfaced with an electricity company marketing and payment systems. It replaces labor in that it automatically transfers power data to the payment system for billing and charging. The interface does not affect the normal operation of the original marketing system.|
